Karbala Center Holding Ramadan Khatm Quran Programs in 9 Countries

IQNA – The International Propagation Center is organizing Khatm Quran (reading the Quran from beginning to end) programs in 9 countries.

The center, affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine in Karbala, is holding the Quranic events during the holy month of Ramadan.

Director of the center Muntadhar al-Mansouri said a total of 23 Khatm Quran programs are taking place in the 9 countries during Ramadan with the goal of promoting a Quranic and spiritual atmosphere. 

They have been organized by the branches of the center in collaboration with various Islamic institutions in different countries, he noted.

They include Syria, Kuwait, Australia, Canada, Ivory Coast, Indonesia, Iran, and Lebanon, he said.

Ramadan is the ninth and most sacred month of the Islamic calendar, in which Muslims commemorate the revelation of the Quran to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, refraining from eating, drinking, and smoking.

They also devote more time to prayer, charity and good deeds, seeking to strengthen their faith and purify their souls.

One of the practices of Ramadan is to recite and study the Quran with some Muslims completing the reading of the entire Quran during the month.
